Interviewed by Erin

What’s your date of birth?

20 September 1968

How tall are you?
5 foot 11.5 and a bit.

Significant others?
I am the husband of Mrs Drake, known to her friends as Francesca (never Fran) and the proud father of Harriet and Imogen.

How did you meet Francesca?
I swept her off her feet by offering to help her move house. I was (and remain) besotted by her very pretty eyelashes.

When did your faith start?
When I was around 12 at a youth camp in Devon.

How and when did you end up at HTH?
Around Easter 2001, we moved to Macclesfield from London and fully intended checking out all the Macc churches. That first Sunday Ricci was preaching and Jan T got down on the floor to play with a four-year-old Harriet. We never went anywhere else.

What is your job here at HTH?
Church Administrator, which means I get to do all sorts of stuff behind the scenes which hopefully make things run smoothly.

Have you had any other jobs in the past?
Lots! All revolving around church leadership or working in the background of Christian ministries.

Favourite character from a book or film?
The child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Do you have any hobbies?
Basket weaving, squirrel juggling and Norwich’s one way system. I like American football (#gohawks!), crime novels and science fiction movies. [Editor's note: one of these sentences has yet to be verified.]

What is your favourite book of the Bible?
I’m rediscovering the gospels at the moment (again).

If you could take one item to a desert island, what would it be?
Giant spoon. Sorry I thought you said dessert island.

Books! Lots of books. If I’m only allowed one (and assuming I already have the Bible) it would be Lawrence Block’s Collected Mystery Stories.
