Full name
James Campbell Ramsey Gibson Date of birth 17 April 1970 Height 1.88m (6'2" for the older ones) What were you like at school? Far too conscientious Date started at HTH 17 June 2016 Any previous vicaring? No, this is my first post as a vicar. I did my curacy (on the job vicar training) at Busbridge and Hambledon Church in Godalming, Surrey. Before that I was a punter in the pew for many years. And before that? Mechanical Engineering degree at Southampton, then Rolls-Royce for five years designing and testing military jet engines, then Masters degree in Soil and Water Engineering (sounds boring but was great!), ten years working for charities helping to provide people in developing countries with clean water and toilets, five years at the Environment Agency trying to stop London flooding, two years at theological college in Bristol … Significant others Deb, Ben and Jemima. First date with Deb Blind date, Plaza del Estudainte, La Paz, Bolivia – I think we went for coffee and cake (I remember I paid!). Favourite woman in the Bible Esther – right place, right time – bold enough to make sure God’s voice was heard. What’s going on in the boat picture? Bold, adventurous, mad – yes it’s me paddling over the edge… Any safer hobbies? Cycling and running as well as a bit of DIY when I get the chance. If you were an animal, what animal would you be? A giraffe. Not sure why, just like the fact that they’re different. Anything unusual we don’t already know about you? I can fly a hovercraft. |
