Where are you at Vicar School?
I’m training as part of the dispersed learning programme at Trinity College, Bristol and I’m placed at St Mark’s in Bredbury, Stockport, where we’ve worshipped for the last five years.

Best bit about it?
That’s it’s a hands-on course. So I’ve had opportunities to be involved in different ministries such as Foodbank and CAP life skills as well as leading, preaching and being part of the Vision and Support team.

And before that?
  • Self-employed as a landscaper designing patios and garden rooms, and landscaping outdoor classrooms for schools.
  • Youth worker at All Saints Marple for three years while at university including leading the New Wine detached team.
  • Youth work trainer at The Message Trust. Designing and delivering accredited Youth Work course with the National Open College Network to be delivered to the students at The Message Academy.
  • Foreman at Direct Line Accident Management.

Significant others?
  • Jen – studying for a Master’s Degree in Media Psychology at the University of Salford.
  • Layla – aged 8 and loves baking and cycling.
  • Lois – aged 5 and crazy about animals, particularly pandas.

Question for Jen. What is Media Psychology?
It's the study of the effects of the changing landscape of media use on our brains and behaviour. It's a broad course looking at topics ranging from ‘what makes us choose what we do on platforms such as Netflix or Prime?’', ‘why people engage (or not) with social media’, and what media use looks like through our lifespans. I'm currently studying how the media representation of migration to Europe affected people’s views and behaviour, which I’m finding really interesting.

Question for Layla and Lois. What do Cookie and Tiddles like to eat most?
They love their rabbit food but also carrots and strawberry tops.

Looking forward to?
We’re excited about getting to know you as a church and especially the community in which you are based where we hope to engage those who are yet to know Jesus. We're looking forward to seeing the new building and working out how best to use it for both church and community. We hope to join in with what God is already doing at HTH and to see where we can fit into that.

Jonny, if you were an animal, what animal would you be?
Tiger, because they’re grrrrreat! (Frosties, get it?)

Anything else we ought to know?
When I was a youth worker in Marple, my youth group included someone who is now a member of HTH (always up to no good, joke!) Can you guess who? Answers to Church Office.
